Slinger Banksman Training


A slinger banksman course provides knowledge of the activities associated with the combined roles of the Banksman and the Slinger. 
The role of the Banksman and the Slinger are naturally combined in the workplace, although the skills required to fulfil each role are different.
The role of the Banksman includes relaying instructions to the crane operator during lifting activities. The Slinger prepares and 'slings' loads for lifting before releasing the loads at their destination.

Training Course Summary

The training course will consist of theory and practical sessions, followed by assessment. Course sessions include:
Theory Assessment.Gaining a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as a Slinger / Signaller Being able to conform to manufacturers requirements as per technical data, conform to relevant regulations and legislation. Being able to locate, identify and explain different types of lifting equipment and lifting accessories.

Training Certification
All candidates will be registered on to the RTITB Nors scheme ( national operators registration scheme valid for 3 years
 
Training Refresher Period
Refresher training is recommended after 3 years and the registration can be renewed with RTITB.
